An array of solar panels has been approved in the grounds of Robbie Williams’ old mansion in Wiltshire.
The council has granted planning permission for 80 solar panels on land to the south of Compton Bassett House.
They will be installed next to an existing helicopter hanger, to which they will be connected by an underground cable.

Compton Bassett House was owned by singer Robbie Williams for over a decade before he sold it on in 2022.
The Take That star took a £1.26 loss on the seven-bedroom property, selling it for £6.75 million, along with its 71-acre estate, indoor spa, football pitch and tennis court.
The new owner’s solar array will be located below the estate’s woodland, separating it from the main house and the listed St Swithin’s Church.
The application said: “The proposed location of the solar array was deemed as the most appropriate due to its contained and hidden location to the south of the dense woodland.
“Moreover, it was not possible to construct the array within the existing residential curtilage due to their size and number of panels and they would very much detract from the setting of the host dwelling.”
Wiltshire Council concluded that the plans would have no detrimental impact on the surrounding area.
