Two men have been arrested after a police raid which was caught on camera found Class A drugs and cash hidden in a Wiltshire home.

Police officers executed the drugs warrant on Back Street in Trowbridge on Thursday, August 22, after receiving a tip-off from a member of the public.

Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), assisted by the Local Priority Targeting Team (LPTT) successfully broke into the property and were able to seize Class A drugs and cash.

A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A 35-year-old man who was found in the home was also arrested after it was discovered he had a number of outstanding theft offences.

The man has since been charged with five theft by shoplifting offences and has been remanded to appear before court on Friday, August 23.

A dramatic video of the police raid which has been shared by the Trowbridge team shows an officer gaining entry via the door while the team enter with shouts of: "Police. Stay where you are."

“Like a lot of the team’s activity, this warrant has been obtained using the information provided to us and concerns raised by the local community," said Sergeant Chilton from Trowbridge's Neighbourhood Policing Team.

"I want to assure you that we take all information provided to us seriously and will do all we can to disrupt the supply of drugs within Trowbridge.

"Following the execution of the warrant, the Trowbridge NPT were successful in obtaining a partial closure order at the address, which was granted at Swindon Magistrates Court.

"The antisocial behaviour taking place at the property has caused no end of distress for the local community and neighbours.

"This order will hopefully provide some peace and respite for the community. We will conduct checks to ensure that the order is adhered to and will not hesitate in enforcing the order should anyone be found to breach it."

The closure order means that nobody other than named residents can access the property for a period of three months.
