A new children’s play area has officially opened as part of a 450 home development in a Wiltshire town.
Chippenham’s mayor, Cllr Conor Melvin, cut the ribbon to open the Pudding Lane Play Area which has been built at the Rowden Brook scheme in Chippenham.
The large housing development, led by Redcliffe Homes, will deliver a total of 450 properties as part of the Rowden Park Garden Village, south of the A4 junction between Bath Road and Rowden Hill.
Chippenham’s newest play park features a multi-use basketball court and a green space featuring a range of play equipment.

This includes swings, springer toys, multi-play units, a cable way, and cycle stands and benches.
Redcliffe Homes’ managing director Tom O’Connor said: “We were delighted that the Mayor kindly agreed to officially open the play area.
“In addition to designing and building desirable and individual homes, one of the ways in which true communities are created is through the provision of communal open spaces, like this new play area, bringing people together in a pleasant and safe environment in the heart of the development.
“Youngsters can enjoy all the play equipment while their parents and grandparents can enjoy the green space and plants; people of all generations can enjoy this pleasant community space.”
