The following cases were heard at magistrates courts in Swindon and Salisbury.

TROWBRIDGE: On Monday, August 5, Joshua Daffurn, of Towpath Road, was sentenced for assault.

The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating her in Trowbridge on January 28.

He was slapped with a community order that has a 16-week curfew, which will be monitored by an electronic tag, and must remain at his address between 7am and 7pm.

Daffurn was also ordered to attend up to 15 days of rehabilitation activity and pay £85 in costs.

DEVIZES: On Wednesday, August 7, Kelly Sims, of Gandy Way, was sentenced for assault and causing harassment, alarm, or distress.

The 34-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting a man by beating him in Swindon on January 1, and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in Swindon on March 15.

She was fined £184 and ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £74 surcharge.

MARLBOROUGH: On Wednesday, August 7, James Radley, of The Thorns, was sentenced for drug driving.

The 21-year-old pleaded guilty to driving in Marlborough on February 7 while the proportion of Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol in his blood exceeded the legal limit.

He was banned from driving for a year, fined £350, and ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £140 surcharge.

WARMINSTER: On Wednesday, August 7, James Swainson, of Imberwood Close, was sentenced for causing harassment, alarm, or distress and two driving offences.

The 47-year-old was found guilty of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in Warminster on January 10.

He also pleaded guilty to driving without the correct licence and insurance on the same date.

Swainson was fined £440, received six penalty points on his licence, and was ordered to pay £620 in costs.

BRADFORD ON AVON: On Thursday, August 8, Dean Cochrane, of Kingswood Avenue in Swindon, was sentenced for assault and three counts of theft from a shop.

The 43-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating her on April 27 in Bradford on Avon.

He also pleaded guilty to stealing £328.95 worth of alcohol, Coca-Cola, and bottle tags from the town’s Sainsbury’s and 30 scratch cards worth £150 from the Co-op.

On May 1, Cochrane also stole chocolate to the value of £529.20 from Tesco in Chippenham.

He was slapped with a community order lasting until February 2025 and must pay a £114 surcharge.

WESTBURY: On Thursday, August 8, Sean McAlees, of Bonnie Farm Caravan Park in Bratton, was sentenced for causing harassment, alarm, or distress.

The 19-year-old was found guilty in his absence of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour at Warminster on February 6.

He was fined £660 and ordered to pay £650 in costs and a £264 surcharge.

TROWBRIDGE: On Thursday, August 8, Aaron James, of no fixed abode, was sentenced for two counts of theft from a shop.

The 35-year-old pleaded guilty to stealing £77 worth of alcohol from the Bradford on Avon Sainsbury’s on May 15, and £61.47 worth of alcohol from Booker Cash and Carry in Trowbridge on May 29.

He was slapped with a one-year community order to be reviewed monthly and must pay compensation.

PEWSEY: On Thursday, August 8, Abigail McIntyre, of Broadfields, was sentenced for three counts of assault.

The 20-year-old pleaded was found guilty of assaulting three other women by beating them.

McIntyre denied all three offences, which took place on September 23 last year in Pewsey.

She must pay £100 in compensation to her victims, complete 100 hours of unpaid work, sand must also undergo mental health treatment as part of a community order lasting until April 2026.
