A town centre coffee shop in Wiltshire has been stripped and boarded up following its permanent closure.

In early August, Costa Coffee announced it would be closing its branch on the corner of The Brittox and Maryport Street in Devizes.

The store, which had been operated by one of Costa’s franchise partners, closed for the final time on Thursday, August 15.

Costa signs at the unit have since been taken down and the windows and doors have been blacked out.

The former coffee shop has been listed as available to let for £17,500 by estate agent Goadsby.

Goadsby described the site as having “excellent corner frontage” along with an open plan sales and seating area, ancillary storage and office space, and a single disabled toilet.

The Costa branch in the Market Place remains open.

At the time of the announcement, a Costa Coffee spokesperson said: “Our Costa Coffee store on Maryport Street, Devizes, which is owned and operated by one of our franchise partners, is closing for trade on Thursday, August 15.

“The local community can continue to enjoy their favourite Costa coffee at our nearby store on Market Place, Devizes.”
