Fire crews rushed to a reported fire in a residential Wiltshire street only to discover a smoke bomb was in use.
Firefighters from Trowbridge and Corsham Fire Stations were deployed to Hill Rise in Chippenham after reports of a domestic fire.
On arrival it became clear that the cause of the disturbance was in fact a smoke bomb that had been used in the property by the occupants.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service says the two crews deployed gave those involved “advice” before leaving the scene.
A spokesperson added: “Crews from Trowbridge and Corsham were mobilised to a Domestic fire in Hill Rise, Chippenham.
“Once in attendance it was quickly ascertained there was no fire but the occupiers using a smoke bomb in the property.
“Fire crews gave the occupiers advice before leaving.”
