Costa Coffee has confirmed one of its town centre branches in Wiltshire will close permanently.

The chain has announced that its Maryport Street store, in the centre of Devizes, will shut for the final time on Thursday, August 15.

This branch, which sits on the corner of The Brittox, is owned and operated by a franchise partner but is now set to be axed.

Costa’s branch in the Market Place, at the junction with Snuff Street, will remain open.

A Costa Coffee spokesperson said: “Our Costa Coffee store on Maryport Street, Devizes, which is owned and operated by one of our franchise partners, is closing for trade on Thursday, August 15.

“The local community can continue to enjoy their favourite Costa coffee at our nearby store on Market Place, Devizes.”

A search has now been launched for a new occupant for the prominent unit.

The property has recently been added to Zoopla and is available to let for £17,500 per year.

Estate agent Goadsby described the site as having “excellent corner frontage” along with an open plan sales and seating area, ancillary storage and office space, and a single disabled toilet.
