A three-home development remains under construction at the site of a derelict home demolished last year.

The old family home at 25 Rowden Hill had stood next to the A4 into Chippenham town centre for nearly a century until it was torn down last year to make way for the residential scheme.

Before that, the building had been left abandoned and burnt-out for over 10 years after a former owner torched it in a fire that caused significant damage.

Last August the property was bulldozed and construction started on a Calibre Homes project to replace it with three four-bedroom homes.

One year on this development appears to be nearing completion with three new houses now standing at the site.

Estate agent Perry Bishop previously estimated construction at the prominent site would be finished this summer, although work remains ongoing at this stage.

The three new builds remain on the market for £625,000 each.

On the firm’s website, a Calibre Homes spokesperson described the scheme as a “stunning development of just three impressive four-bedroom homes.”

They added: “Each of these properties has been thoughtfully designed boasting an impressive kitchen and living space, a separate lounge, four double bedrooms, and much more.

“All benefiting from our standard high spec finish.”
