A Swindon woman died in a crash on a busy B-road near Malmesbury.
The collision involving a Volvo C70 and a Kawasaki ZR motorcycle happened on the B4014 near Long Newnton shortly after 5.30pm on Wednesday.
Paramedics declared the motorcyclist - a 28-year-old woman from Swindon - dead at the scene. Her next of kin and the coroner have been informed.
An ambulance took the driver of the Volvo, a 78-year-old woman, to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where she is being treated for her injuries.
Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and the road, which remained closed throughout Wednesday night and Thursday morning, is expected to stay shut for a few more hours.
A Gloucestershire Constabulary spokesperson said: "Anyone with information or who has relevant dashcam footage is asked to come forward.
"Details can be given through this form on the Constabulary website, quoting incident 418 of July 31."
This comes after a Swindon woman in her 40s died on a different Gloucestershire B-road earlier this week.
Police were called to the B4425 in Barnsley, near Cirencester, just before 8pm on Tuesday, July 30, after the motorcycle hit a tree.
Last week, a Swindon man in his 50s died at the B4696 junction of Cox's Hill in Ashton Keynes after his motorbike collided with a Volkswagen Tiguan at around 5.25pm on Thursday, July 25.
