The following cases were heard at magistrates courts in Swindon and Salisbury.

DEVIZES: On Wednesday, July 17, Jason Wynter, of Springers House in Rendell Court, was sentenced for theft from a shop.

The 53-year-old pleaded guilty to stealing six beef joints and four margaritas, with a total value of £158.34, from Sainsbury’s in Devizes.

He was ordered to pay £158.34 in compensation, fined £108, and must also pay £325 in costs.

DEVIZES: On Thursday, July 18, Lee Rawlings, of Moyne Close, was sentenced for two counts of threatening or abusive behaviour, criminal damage, and five counts of theft from a shop.

The 35-year-old pleaded guilty to all charges, which included using threatening or abusive words or behaviour that provoked fear of unlawful violence in the Market Place on March 30.

Rawlings also admitted to the same offence during a separate incident in the town’s Sainsbury’s store on the same date.

Between March 29 and May 8, Rawlings stole £100 of baby milk and baby food from Esso, alcohol, ketchup, a milkshake and £123.21 of other items from Sainsbury’s, £51.50 worth of items from Marks and Spencer, and two bottles of wine from Tesco Express, all in Devizes.

He also committed an act of criminal damage, costing £210, in Longcroft Avenue on March 30.

Rawlings was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, must undergo six months of drug rehabilitation, and was ordered to pay a total of £496.56 in compensation.

MALMESBURY: On Thursday, July 18, Matthew Aston, of Wheeler Way, was sentenced for dangerous driving and drink driving.

The 19-year-old pleaded guilty driving on the A429 at Corston, on May 11, while the proportion of alcohol in his breath was 94uq per 100 millilitres.

He also pleaded guilty to driving dangerously, without the necessary licence or insurance, in Barnes Close on the same date.

Aston was fined £100, disqualified from driving for two years, and placed under a community order requiring him to undergo nine months of alcohol treatment, and a year of mental health treatment.

TROWBRIDGE: On Thursday, July 18, Levi Ross, of Serotine Crescent, was sentenced for assaulting an emergency worker, burglary, and other offences.

The 18-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting a female police office in Kingfisher Close, Trowbridge, on July 16.

Ross also admitted to racially aggravated harassment of another officer in West Ashton, and vehicle interference, on the same date.

On June 26, the teenager stole an unknown amount of cash, two charity boxes, and a card reader from Absolutely Fabulous Flowers in Church Walk, and around £350 in cash from Care Choice Plus.

He was placed under a community order requiring him to undergo drug rehabilitation and ordered to pay £300 in compensation.

CRICKLADE: On Monday, July 22, Jennifer Whiteman, of Roberts Close, was sentenced for assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The 56-year-old assaulted a man in Cricklade on February 23, causing him actual bodily harm.

She was fined £150 and placed under a community order requiring her to undergo mental health treatment.

GREAT SOMERFORD: On Tuesday, July 23, Shane Bowers was sentenced for failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

The 37-year-old pleaded guilty to failing to provide a sample of breath for analysis while the suspected driver of a vehicle in Royal Wootton Bassett on May 18.

He was banned from driving for 17 months, to be reduced by 17 months if a course is completed, fined £700, and ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £280 surcharge.
