A Wiltshire gym dubbed the 'best in the county' is set to reopen after a major refurbishment.
The gym facilities at The Olympiad Leisure Centre in Chippenham have been closed since Monday, July 1, while a full renovation of the space was carried out by Wiltshire Council.
This work has now been completed and when the gym reopens to the public on Monday, July 29, it will have a completely new look.
The refurbishment has included the full replacement of fitness equipment, a redecoration, and the installation of replacement flooring.
Campus manager Andy Donald said he believes the changes make the gym 'one of the best' in Wiltshire.
He said: “We’re really pleased, the fixtures and fittings and equipment are state-of-the-art.

“It’s blown me away how well it’s turned out and I hope the members appreciate the work that’s gone on.
“It’s been a long time coming but it will be well worth the wait because the improvement is huge, it’s like chalk and cheese and I hope everyone will be blown away too.
“I’m biased but from what I’ve seen it’s the best gym in Wiltshire, some might have more bits of kit or be slightly larger, but as a package I think you’d be hard pressed to find one as good as this.”
The changes include the installation of kit that can monitor members’ performance and will be linked to their membership profile.
This will allow users to keep track of their programme and can give them detailed feedback including their metabolic age, body condition, and progress.
There has also been an emphasis on promoting inclusivity through the installation of wheelchair accessible exercise machines and by ensuring the layout is welcoming for all users.

These improvements have come as part of a larger project by the council to upgrade leisure facilities around Wiltshire, with a number of other centres also undergoing renovation in recent months.
Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, the cabinet member for leisure, said: “I have to say I am hugely impressed and thrilled having seen it.
“It’s vital because we have to be financially sustainable so ultimately we’re chasing the same people as any other commercial organisation.
“What is different about us is we have objectives to help elderly people or people with disabilities or medical conditions, they are the people we want to help.
“Having something financially viable that also caters to those people is all important.”
