A town centre bank in Wiltshire has been forced to announce it will be temporarily shutting to customers.
HSBC has displayed signs at its Devizes Market Place branch warning customers that it will be closing its doors for two weeks from Monday, July 29, to Tuesday, August 13.
The bank is one of few places left in the town where people can bank in person, following multiple closures in recent years.
HSBC said the reason for closing its branch to the public is a refresh which will include internal building works.
In the notice, HSBC said it was working to resume normal service as soon as possible.
It added: “We need to temporarily close our branch.

“We’re really sorry, we know that’s not the news you wanted to hear, but we’re trying to resume a normal service as soon as possible.
“We’ll be closed from July 29, 2024, to August 13, 2024, we’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”
While the refurbishment will force the bank to shut for two weeks, local director Andy Ferns said he was excited about the work, which will include the addition of "state-of-the-art" cash machines.
He said: "We continue to invest in our branch network to make our customers’ experience banking with us a good one.
"We are pleased that our Devizes branch is getting a refresh, with some painting, new signage, and the installation of new state-of-the-art cash machines, which we are excited about."
Mr Ferns said customers had been given advanced notice of the works.
He added: “We have been talking to customers about the temporary closure for the last month, and while we are having the work done people can continue to use their nearest Post Office for day-to-day transactions, plus mobile and online banking is available 24/7 in addition to being able to call our contact centre."
During the closure, HSBC customers will be able to access their remote banking wherever they are through the chain’s mobile banking app or website.
Personal customers can access help over the phone by calling 03457 404 404, while business customers should call 03457 60 60 60.
Selected services can also be provided at the nearest Post Office, in Sainsbury’s on Monday Market Street.
