The following cases were heard at magistrates courts in Swindon and Salisbury.

MARLBOROUGH: On Wednesday, July 10, Lewis Miles, of Chiminage Close, was sentenced for racially aggravated harassment and possession of a Class A drug.

The 42-year-old pleaded guilty to using racially aggravated threatening or abusive words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour, likely to cause harassment, alarm, or distress in Marlborough, on January 1.

He also pleaded guilty to possession of a quantity of cocaine in the town on the same date.

Miles was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 in costs, and the cocaine was forfeited and destroyed.

MELKSHAM: On Monday, July 15, Aaron Loveridge, of Linslade Street, was sentenced for three counts of fraud by false representation and multiple other offences.

The 21-year-old was convicted of fraudulently obtaining £2,050 in cash from a victim, between January 26 and February 4 last year, by pretending to be a representative from a bank.

Later that year he would make false representations to two more victims, claiming he needed money for legal fees and accommodation, intending to gain sums of £1,190 and £250.

Loveridge also pleaded guilty to sending threatening messages and voice notes, between September 12 and October 30 last year, and was convicted for two counts of breaching a non-molestation order.

He was given a prison sentence of 20 weeks, suspended for two years, and must complete 100 hours of unpaid work and 42 days of rehabilitation activity.

Loveridge must also repay all three of his victims.

CORSHAM: On Monday, July 15, Ashley Snelgrove, of The Close in Gastard, was sentenced for criminal damage.

The 40-year-old pleaded guilty to causing an unknown amount of damage to a Mini Countryman in Corsham on October 29 last year.

Snelgove was ordered to pay £1876.16 in compensation and must complete 40 hours of unpaid work.

CHIPPENHAM: On Monday, July 15, Kieran Ingram, of Oakhurst in Langley Burrell, was sentenced for possession of a knife and a separate offensive weapon in a public place.

The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to possessing a kitchen knife in Marsh Lane, Devizes, on August 10 last year.

He also admitted a telescopic extendable baton at the same location on the same date.

Ingram was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work and will be under the supervision of a community order until July 14 next year.

Both weapons must be forfeited and destroyed and he must pay £85 in costs and a £114 surcharge.

ROYAL WOOTON BASSETT: On Tuesday, July 16, Kate Chapman, of Downs View, was sentenced for criminal damage to a police vehicle.

The 56-year-old pleaded guilty to damaging the window of the police vehicle, to an unknown value, on January 31 in Swindon.

She was fined £100 and ordered to pay £107.52 in compensation, and £85 in costs.

NESTON: On Tuesday, July 16, a 17-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was sentenced for driving a vehicle without a licence or insurance.

The teenager pleaded guilty to driving a car on Valley Road in Corsham without a valid licence or insurance on January 6.

She was fined £200, ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £26 surcharge, and her driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.

CALNE: On Tuesday, July 16, a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was sentenced for driving a vehicle without a licence or insurance.

The teenager pleaded guilty to driving an unregistered quad bike in Calne without a valid licence or insurance on February 6.

He was fined £66, ordered to pay a £26 surcharge, and his driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
