Tesco has confirmed the opening date for its brand new High Street convenience store in Wiltshire.
The supermarket giant is set to open a Tesco Express on Chippenham High Street, following the closure of its Emery Gate superstore.
In January Tesco announced it had taken the “difficult decision” to downsize its presence in the town by leaving the shopping centre, where it has had a store since 2008.
The retailer later erected signs at the Emery Gate branch confirming the store would close its doors for good on August 15.
Since then, work has been ongoing to convert a unit in the former Wilko building into a convenience store.
A sign has since been put in the shopfront letting customers know that this Tesco Express will open for the first time at 8am on Friday, August 16, the day after the superstore closes.

The message added: “Tommy and the store team look forward to welcoming you.”
Over the last month, extensive renovations have been taking place at the unit after owners The Harkalm Group handed it over to its latest occupants.
The property group had previously completed refurbishment works at the building to allow Tesco to begin fitting out the space, which had been vacant since last September.
Since then, counters, self-service machines, fridges, and freezers have all been installed at the unit, alongside an external ATM and shopfront signage advertising the new store.
Tesco will occupy one of three units created by The Harkalm Group at the prominent former Wilko building.
When announcing this news in January, the property group said it was “pleased” with the move.

A spokesperson said: “Having completed the purchase of the former Wilkos in Chippenham, we are pleased to announce we have exchanged contracts with Tesco for a new lease on unit one.
“The legal process was completed in record time – just two weeks. A big thanks to all involved.”
Starbucks has also been confirmed as an occupant for one of these units.
The chain is currently seeking planning permission for works associated with a coffee house fronting both the High Street and the River Avon.
A third unit remains on the market with no occupant yet confirmed.
Tesco’s departure from the Emery Gate shopping centre comes amidst plans for the redevelopment of the site, which could see the creation of town centre housing a revamped retail offering.
