A Wiltshire school has been forced to close and send all pupils home after losing its water supply.
Kingsbury Green Academy in Calne announced the closure in an urgent message to parents on the morning of Friday, July 19, after problems with Wessex Water’s service in the area.
The school says it has no running water or access to toilets so is legally unable to stay open.
Pupils have since been leaving the site once obtaining permission from their parents.
In a statement, headteacher Jason Tudor said: “The school is forced to close this morning and we need to send all pupils home.

“This is due to a problem with Wessex water in the local area that has led to no running water and no access to toilets.
“Legally, we cannot stay open with no running water or functioning toilets.
“Therefore, your children will be calling you to request permission to go home.
“Please confirm you give them permission and we can allow them to leave site with immediate effect.
“The fact that we have to postpone our house celebration event is very upsetting for all of us at KGA but we have taken advice on our options and it appears that we have only the option to send pupils home.”
