Patients of a town centre dentist in Marlborough have been facing a number of issues at the practice with some claiming it is 'impossible to contact' and 'often closed'.

Multiple patients of South Cliff Dental Group, on Hughenden Yard, have taken to Facebook to raise issues on the group called Marlborough Notice Board.

The claims come after a woman, who does not wish to be named, arrived at the dentist for a scheduled appointment on Monday, July 15, only to find that the practice was closed with no note on the door and no prior warning of a cancellation or change.

The patient shared her experience on the group which was met with a chorus of profiles all echoing the same or similar experiences.

"Got all the way there today from Ludgershall for my appointment at 1 and they were closed. Wasted my fuel and paying for parking," said Samantha Neal, who found notes taped to the doors listing four different missed appointments.

“They constantly cancel appointments and never answer their phones,” added Tony Shepherd.

“The only way to contact them is to phone South Cliff Westbury.”

"My son has an appointment this morning, can't get through on phone," another commenter wrote on Facebook.

Shaun Ashley said he has recently turned his back on the dental practice after he felt that he was 'getting nowhere' and 'struggling to be seen'.

"I went back last year and saw them about an infection I had from a wisdom tooth coming through and was told we'll just refer you to have it out," he said.

"Upon a check this Monday neither tooth had been referred so I'm still at square one.

"Now I just ring 111. It's quicker and I get seen."

A Gazette reporter visited the practice on Monday, July 15 and was told by a receptionist that the practice will remain open and is “taking patients and operating as usual”.

South Cliff Dental Group has been contacted for a comment both via phone and email but at the time of writing has not responded.
