A yellow weather warning has been issued for parts of Wiltshire with outbreaks of “heavy and thundery” rain expected.
The Met Office has warned there is a chance that heavy rain will spread across large parts of the South West during Monday, July 15, increasing the risk of localised flooding and disruption.
A yellow weather warning for rain has been issued and covers multiple towns and villages in West Wiltshire, including the areas surrounding Trowbridge, Westbury, Warminster, and Corsham.
This reaches up past the M4, to the West of Swindon and Malmesbury.
The warning will be in place from 8am on Monday until the end of the day.
During this time, residents have been urged to watch for outbreaks of heavy rain spreading North, which could cause traffic disruption and flooding to properties.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Some torrential downpours are likely in places with 15 to 20mm falling in less than an hour and as much as 30 to 40mm in three hours.
“This is likely to lead to localised flooding, slower travel times, and a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded.”
As well as flooding risk, the Met Office added there is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services.
The heavy rain is expected to slowly ease after dark.
