Wiltshire residents are set are set to head to polling stations this week to vote in the general election.

Those voting across Wiltshire newly withdrawn constituencies on Thursday, July 4, will need to provide an accepted form of ID to vote.

Residents in the Chippenham constituency, which now stretches out to Corsham, Calne, and Royal Wootton Baset, are guaranteed to elect a new MP with Michelle Donelan now contesting the Melksham and Devizes seat.

Conservative candidate Nic Puntis will be challenged by Liberal Democrat Sarah Gibson and Labour candidate Ravi Venkatesh.

Also standing is independent candidate Ed Deedigan, Declan Baseley for the Green Party, and Benjamin Ginsburg for Reform.

In Melksham and Devizes, Michelle Donelan will be fighting Liberal Democrat Brian Mathew and Labour’s Kerry Postlewhite for a seat.

The seat will also be contested by Catherine Read of the Green Party and Reform’s Malcolm Cupis.

This redrawn constituency also includes Bradford on Avon, Colerne, and Market Lavington.

Voters in the East Wiltshire Constituency, which runs between Marlborough and Avebury, will have a choice of six candidates.

These include Conservative Danny Kruger, the MP for Devizes since 2019, Liberal Democrat David Kinnaird, and Labour’s Rob Newman.

They will be joined by Pete Force-Jones of the True & Fair Party, Emily Herbert of the Green Party, and Stephen Talbot of Reform.

In South West Wiltshire, which includes Trowbridge and now drops to just south of Mere, Conservative Andrew Murrison will be campaigning to retain his seat.

He will be up against Bret Palmer of the Liberal Democrats, and Evelyn Akoto of the Labour Party.

Also standing are independent candidates Thomas Culshaw and James Ward, Fay Whitfield from the Green Party, and Reform’s Garry Irvin.

Areas of North Wiltshire including Malmesbury have now been swallowed up by the new South Cotswolds constituency.

Conservative James Gray will attempt to defend his seat against Roz Savage of the Liberal Democrats and Labour’s Zoe Billingham.

Also contesting the seat are independent candidates Sandy Steel and Owen Humphrys, the Green Party’s Bob Eastoe, Martin Broomfield of the Social Democratic Party, Chris Twells of the Liberal Party, and Desi Latimer of Reform.

Finally, in Salisbury, Conservative John Glen will be aiming to defend his seat against the Liberal Democrats’ Victoria Charleston and Labour’s Matt Aldridge.

Chris Harwood of the Climate Party, Barney Norris of the Green Party, Julian Malins of Reform, and independent King Arthur Pendragon will also contest the seat.
