Hundreds of people lined the streets near Chippenham to watch all the colour and spectacle of the 2024 Bromham Carnival.
The event saw huge surprise costumes this year, from fairies, dinosaurs, lab rats and even Santa Claus himself - but no one was more surprised than Lucy Wood.
The bride-to-be was treated to an early surprise hen party by her friends complete with their own hen party float pulled along by a tractor which paraded Lucy and her friends around the village.
Other carnival goers worthy of a mention for their fantastic costumes include football supporters Charlotte Burbidge, Karly Holmes and Suzanne Howlett, who had enough enthusiasm between them to boost England into the finals of the Euros, Bromham School’s St Nics Science lab, and the Stiles family Christmas elves who paraded the streets in the summer heat.
The 2024 carnival also saw a record-high number of entries to the Teddy Trail challenge and the event came to a close with an evening of local talent performing live at Bromfest.
"To see the village all together with a single aim is so joyful," said local Jennifer Holiday.
"Well done to all the Carnival Committee for such a fun week of activities which was wonderfully crowned by such an extensive and creative procession and such a fun gathering afterwards."
