The following cases were heard at magistrates courts in Swindon and Salisbury.

ERLESTOKE: On Thursday, June 13, Nathan Killilea, of HMP Erlestoke, was sentenced for possessing an item inside a prison without authority.

The 36-year-old pleaded guilty to possessing a mobile phone while inside the prison on March 28.

He was sentenced to four months behind bars and the phone will be forfeited and destroyed.

LUDGERSHALL: On Thursday, June 13, Thomas Cuss, of Short Street, was sentenced for assaulting an emergency worker and obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty.

The 41-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting a police constable by beating him, and also resisting him or preventing him from carrying out his duty, at Ludgershall on May 10.

He was ordered to pay £200 in compensation and a £750 fine.

Cuss must also pay £85 in fees and a £300 surcharge.

TIDWORTH: On Thursday, June 13, Kayleigh McColl was sentenced for racially aggravated intentional harassment.

The 30-year-old, from Cowdrey Square in Andover, pleaded guilty to using racially aggravated threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour to cause another person alarm or distress, at Tidworth on April 13 last year.

She was ordered to pay £165 in compensation and complete 150 hours of unpaid work.

McColl must also undergo a year of mental health treatment and six months of alcohol treatment.

UPAVON: On Thursday, June 13, Jason Bird, of Vulcan Drive, was sentenced for using threatening words or behaviour to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to causing fear of or provoking “immediate unlawful violence” against a victim during an incident in Pewsey on November 21 last year.

He was fined £135 and ordered to pay £85 in costs.

MELKSHAM: On Friday, June 14, Jaidyn Judd, of Milton Avenue, was sentenced for driving while above the legal limit for a controlled drug.

The 22-year-old pleaded guilty to testing positive for higher than the legal amount of Benzoylecgonine in his bloodstream while driving on Bath Road in Chippenham, on January 14.

He was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £500.

Judd must also pay £85 in costs and a surcharge of £200.

STAVERTON: On Friday, June 14, Daniel Edwards, of Blackthorn Way, was sentenced for seven counts of theft from a shop.

The 25-year-old pleaded guilty to all seven offences and one count of failing to surrender to police or court at the appointed time.

In April he stole £233.55 worth of toiletries and meat from Sainsbury’s in Trowbridge, and he stole meat of an unknown value from Lidl in Westbury on three occasions.

Edwards also fragrances worth over £600 from Tesco in Trowbridge.

He was sentenced to 14 weeks in prison and ordered to pay £200 in compensation.

CALNE: On Friday, June 14, Nathan Groves, of Sumbler Drive, was sentenced for causing criminal damage to property.

The 33-year-old pleaded guilty to causing £643 worth of damage to furniture at the Leigh Park Hotel in Bradford on Avon, on May 25.

He was ordered to pay £643 in compensation and a £465 fine.

Groves must also pay £85 in costs and a surcharge of £186.

MELKSHAM: On Friday, June 14, Laura Dommett, of Caretakers Close, was sentenced for assault, two counts of theft from a shop, and failing to surrender to police or a court.

The 38-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting a man by beating him at Lidl in Melksham on July 20 last year.

On the same date, she stole a bottle of gin from Lidl, and on August 9 last year she stole £9.05 worth of alcohol from Sainsbury’s in Trowbridge.

Dommett was ordered to pay £100 in compensation and must undergo six months of drug rehabilitation.
