A crash on the M4 which involved two vehicles damaged a third car on the opposite carriageway.

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage of the collision on the motorway which happened on the evening of Tuesday, June 17.

At around 5.30pm, on the M4 westbound between Junction 16 for Royal Wootton Bassett and Junction 17 for Chippenham, two vehicles crashed into each other.

Debris from this crash flew across the barrier and hit another vehicle which was travelling in the opposite direction on the eastbound side of the road.

The incident also damaged 30 metres of the central reservation barrier.

There were no reported serious injuries. One lane of the westbound route closed until around 10pm.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, particularly those who may have captured the incident on dashcam footage, to get in touch with us.
