A man in his 20s has died a month after a serious crash on a busy Wiltshire road.

Police were called to the incident on the B4040 Stonehill, midway between Charlton and Minety, at around 5.10pm on April 14.

A black Volkswagen GTI was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

Two passengers were initially taken to hospital as a precaution.

One of the passengers, a man in his 20s, died around a month after the incident.

Police say his family are being supported by specially trained officers.

The driver of the car was interviewed by police and officers are continuing to investigate.

Anyone who witnessed the crash has been urged to come forward.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We are appealing for witnesses to a collision which took place near Malmesbury on April 14.

“On Sunday, April 14, at around 5.10pm, a black Volkswagen GTI was involved in a single vehicle collision on the B4040 Stonehill, midway between Charlton and Minety.

“We are appealing for anyone who recalls seeing this vehicle that day and may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the vehicle to please get in touch with us.
