Police have acted quickly after a man was spotted wielding a knife in public.
Calne man, Craig Russell, was arrested on June 5 after officers from Wiltshire Police received reports that a man was carrying a knife and had approached another in the Rec park in Calne.
The 31-year-old of no fixed address was arrested shortly afterwards and then charged with affray, threatening a person with a blade, namely a 6" kitchen knife, in a public place and possession of the class A drug which was cocaine.
After his arrest and charge, Russell appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court on June 7 just to confirm his identity and did not enter a plea.
He was then remanded into custody.
He will remain there until his next court appearance at Salisbury Crown Court on July 10 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
