Residents in Chippenham are being warned to watch their cars after multiple high-value vehicles have been stolen during a spate of burglaries.
On Wednesday, May 29, burglars broke into one house in Burton just after midnight and stole multiple car keys before making off with a Porsche and a BMW X5.
Just one day later, another Porsche and a Volkswagen Golf were stolen just after midnight from an address in Little Somerford, and the keys were taken during a similar burglary.
Wiltshire Police now has reason to suspect that these incidents may be related, and are urging all residents to be vigilant.
“Our enquiries in relation to these incidents are ongoing however, it is clear that suspects are targeting high-value vehicles," said Inspector Pete Foester, who is working on the case.
"Please be vigilant and mindful of your own home security and ensure keys are locked away securely and out of sight.
“If you suspect suspicious activity at a neighbour's address, please report it immediately. We’d rather know and it be nothing, than not be informed at all and a crime have been committed.”
Anyone with information about either of the above incidents should call 101 and quote crime reference numbers 54240062221 and 54240062482.
Alternatively, any member of the public can give information anonymously by calling CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.
