A German Shepherd dog that was wearing a muzzle has reportedly lunged at a child in Chippenham.
The incident took place on Bridge Street in Chippenham at around 5pm on Monday, May 6, when a short-haired German Shepherd lunged at a small child on the street.
According to officers, it was on a lead at the time and wearing a muzzle, however officers now wish to speak to the owner of the dog to investigate what happened.
The person walking the dog at the time has been described as a white woman with short brown hair and was wearing grey trousers and a silver top at the time of the incident.
"We are appealing for witnesses following reports of an incident involving a dog and a child on Bridge Street, Chippenham," said a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police.
