A man has been arrested and over £1,000 of cash and drugs has been seized after a stop in Wiltshire.

Officers from the Local Policing Tasking Team stopped a driver in his 20s, in the Kingswall area of Malmesbury, on the evening of Tuesday, May 7.

Around £700 in cash was seized and approximately £500 worth of cocaine was later located hidden in the engine of the vehicle, say police.

The man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

He has subsequently been released under investigation.

PC Ashlyn Goddall has urged residents to report any suspected drug offences.

She said: "We know that people are concerned about drug dealing, and the associated violence, exploitation and anti-social behaviour that comes with it.

"Our officers are already carrying out a huge amount of work to target drug dealers, and we need the support of our communities to get the intelligence we need to assist our investigations.

"If you have information about drug dealing or suspicious activity in your community please report it to us.

"No matter how small the piece of information is, it will be recorded and used to build up a bigger intelligence picture that officers can then act on."
