A vintage and antique shop selling one-of-a-kind items will be leaving its Marlborough home after 23 years and moving to a new location.
The Cat’s Whiskers, located on Kingsbury Street just past the town hall, has been described as an eclectic shop selling a huge range of antique and decorative items for the home and garden, as well as exclusively crafted items made by locals.
The shop is run by Sue Rumbold, a beloved figure in the town, who has spent years building up her business.
After 23 years in Marlborough, Sue has now announced that The Cat’s Whiskers will relocate closer to Devizes.

Her new shop will be based opposite Retro Relics, on Woodlands Yard in Market Lavington.
“I’m not ready to retire yet and I’ve been fortunate to find a property within a two-minute walk of my home, so once the Marlborough shop is sold I will relocate and continue to trade in Devizes,” she said.
She continued: “I’m moving to be nearer to home due to health issues, which have made me reluctantly realise that I’m no longer a sprightly 30-year-old,” the shop owner explained.
“I am in fact a pensioner – never thought that would happen!”
Many Marlborough residents have expressed how much they will miss seeing the shop 'bursting at the seems' as they walk past.
"It's like a fantastic liquorice all sorts kind of shop, you never know what you're going to find in there," one resident told the Gazette.
The move isn't expected to take place for several months yet, but Sue has made it clear that she plans to keep the business going as long as possible despite her ongoing health issues.
45 Kingsbury Street, which is a listed building, has now been put up for sale on RightMove for an asking price of £195,000.
While Sue waits for a buyer to turn her beloved shop into their new home, customers can benefit from discounts on offer.
During its final months in Marlborough, The Cat's Whiskers is offering discounts on everything in the store in the hopes of clearing some stock and making the move a little easier.
“Hopefully it’ll be for many more happy years in Devizes, as I find this business totally addictive," added Sue.
