A property in a Wiltshire town has been severely damaged by a house fire that firefighters have been tackling for hours.
According to Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, seven fire crews were called to the fire in Church Street, Bradford on Avon, on Sunday, May 5.
Along with tackling the fire, firefighters tried to salvage belongings from the property and nobody is believed to have been hurt.
Nearly 10 hours on from the initial callout, the fire service say three fire engines are still at the scene, 75 per cent of the property has been "destroyed", and an investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.
A fire service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called at 2.13am to reports of a roof fire in Church Street, Bradford on Avon. At the height of the incident, seven fire engines attended (from Bradford on Avon, Trowbridge x2, Corsham, Warminster, Devizes, and Chippenham).
"Firefighters used hose reels, main lines, and light portable pumps to extinguish the fire. Firefighters also worked hard to salvage belongings from the property and thankfully no one is believed to have been injured.
"The incident is ongoing and three fire engines are currently on scene dampening down. Approximately 75 per cent of the property has been destroyed by the fire and a fire investigation is underway to establish the cause."
