A man has died and a second man has suffered potentially life-changing injuries following a collision on the A303 near Tisbury yesterday afternoon (April 30).
At around 3.35pm, an Audi A4 travelling eastbound on the single carriageway section of the A303 at Chilmark collided head-on with a second vehicle, a Volkswagen Caravelle, travelling in the other direction.
Wiltshire Police have confirmed the driver of the Audi, a man in his 80s, was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a man in his 30s, suffered serious leg injuries and has been taken to hospital.
A passenger in the Volkswagen, a woman in her 20s, suffered minor injuries.
The road was closed overnight with National Highways reporting a ‘serious collision’ and has since reopened.
