A newly refurbished play park designed specifically for toddlers has proven to be a huge success just weeks after opening.
The toddler play park next to Marlborough's Wye House Gardens had been awaiting refurbishment after the town council declared it as having "reached the end of its life."
But on March 25, the newly refurbished play park was opened to the public by Marlborough Mayor Nicholas Fogg, just in time for the Easter holidays.
The new park includes wooden climbing equipment and a bouncy safety surface along with new railings, benches, planters and space to run around.
The site, which joins onto the tranquil Wye House Gardens, has proven popular with both parents and children.
"It is the only play area in the Town Council’s estate that has been designed exclusively for the very young," said a spokesperson for Marlborough Town Council.
Two-year-old Joshie from Marlborough became the first toddler to try out the new equipment and has officially given the refurbishment a big thumbs up.
Following the park's success, Marlborough Town Council is now inviting local pre-schools and play groups to 'adopt' a planter to teach young children about growing and wildlife.
"We hope the play area will continue to be a hit with our youngest residents and we look forward to seeing the results of their green-fingered plans," added the town council.
