A holiday lodge business in Wiltshire, put on the market for £875,000 has now been sold.
Willowbank Lodges, located just 1.5 miles from Pewsey and 7 miles from Marlborough, is a holiday site made up of five luxury timber lodges, each with enclosed verandas overlooking peaceful lakes in the Wiltshire countryside.
The business is set on 3.42 acres including two lakes and has been a popular holiday getaway for the last 14 years, with a nature reserve, canal, the River Avon and Savernake Forest all on its doorstep.
Although the business was first established in 2010, the site has been under the same ownership since 2000 and the owner only recently announced their retirement.
With a guide price set at £875,000 and several offers made, property agent Carter Jonas has now confirmed that the Willowbank Lodges site has been sold.
"We received strong interest for the site as soon as we brought it to the market from a range of purchasers including individuals through to corporate operators already in the self-catering business," said Stephen Richards, Head of Leisure for Carter Jonas.
"We were able to produce over 35 viewings and received several bids before agreeing on a sale.”
Willowbank Lodges had a gross turnover of £118,332 for the March 2022 season and a net profit of £70,616, even accounting for the loss of business due to lockdown.
As well as the five cabins, the large site also offers bounds of potential with space to build additional lodges and the potential to convert the outbuilding into an owner's accommodation.
