A former Chinese restaurant that had housed one of Wiltshire’s longest-running independent businesses is up for sale.
Pagoda, at The Parade in Marlborough, was run by Ching Lin and Andy Cheung for 35 years until the pair announced their retirement, and the restaurant’s closure, last August.
Now, over six months later, the Grade II Listed restaurant building, and the four-bedroom flat above the premises, are on the market for a price of £495,000.
The venue became a firm favourite for many in the town during the decades it was open, and at the time of the closure, Ching Lin and Andy said they would miss their loyal regulars.
They added: “We will miss the guests, they aren't customers, they are friends.
“We've known some of them for a long time, some as long as 40 years from our previous restaurant, we are always so happy to see them.
“We have really enjoyed the ride.”
As well as a 1,864sq foot restaurant space plus living areas, the property also has a cellar and garden.
Stibbard Property, the estate agents listing the venue, added: “Marlborough benefits from significant footfall and high levels of passing traffic.”
