A 12-year-old has been hospitalised with “serious injuries” after a two-vehicle crash on a busy Wiltshire A-road.
Emergency services, including both police and fire crews, were called to the A346 at Cadley, just south of Marlborough, shortly after noon on Saturday, March 9.
Members of the public called for help after a crash between a lorry and a car on the route, with witnesses reporting that both vehicles sustained significant damage.
A 12-year-old passenger, who had been in the car at the time of the collision, was taken to Bristol Children’s Hospital with injuries that police described as “serious.”
At the time of writing, around five hours after the incident, the road remained closed while emergency services worked to clear the scene.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We were called to a collision on the A346 at Cadley at 12.25pm today.
“A lorry and a car were involved in a collision.
“A 12-year-old passenger in the car was taken to Bristol Children’s Hospital with serious injuries.
“The road remains closed whilst the incident is cleared.”
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was also contacted for comment.
