An “extremely popular” Wiltshire beauty salon remains listed for sale after ending 17 years in business and closing permanently.
House of Beauty, on New Road in Chippenham, closed its doors for the final time on Monday, February 19, after owners Nigel and Wendy Smith spent several months marketing the business.
The pair, who established the salon in 2007, told customers they had decided to step away for personal reasons after no buyer came forward.
In a statement sent to customers, Mrs Smith said: “Since September last year Nigel and I have been in the process of selling House of Beauty with the intention that it would continue trading under new ownership.
“Unfortunately, this has not been successful and therefore Nigel and I have decided to close the beautiful House of Beauty ourselves.”
The business remains listed for sale on Rightmove at £135,000.
House of Beauty is being marketed by Hilton Smythe, who described the now-closed salon as a recently refurbished venue offering a range of “highly rated” beauty and aesthetic treatments.
The business advisors said: “House of Beauty is an experience that promises to deliver quality and excellence, offering the very best in beauty and aesthetic treatments, using the finest products found in the world’s top spas.”
The Smiths told customers that they were sad to leave the salon behind.
They added: “It is with a very heavy heart that the day has come to close the doors of House of Beauty for the last time.
“Nearly 18 years ago we opened… and we wouldn’t change a single day of loyal, familiar faces returning time and time again to the salon for treatments, but our reasons for bringing things to a close are personal.”
The pair also took the opportunity to thank those who had supported them over nearly two decades of working in Chippenham.
This included their landlady, suppliers, staff, and customers.
“We would like to take the opportunity of thanking all our associates that have been part of the House of Beauty journey over the last 17 years”, they said.
“A special mention must go to our Hayley that stuck with us through and after Covid, but most of all our thanks go to you all for your love of House of Beauty, your loyalty, and your friendship.”
“We will miss you and House of Beauty but enjoy the memories and achievements that have been made.”
