Police have closed a road at a Wiltshire village after power cables collapsed and blocked the path of drivers.
Power lines came down across Tetbury Road in Sherston during the afternoon of Monday, January 15, posing a risk to any drivers attempting to navigate the route.
Officers have shut the rural road until engineers from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) can repair the cables.
It is expected they will be on site at around 5.30pm.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Cables have come down across Tetbury Road Sherston.
“The road is currently closed and we are awaiting the arrival of Scottish and Southern Electrics, due about 17.30 today.”
At the time of writing SSEN was not reporting any power outages in the area as a result of the downed cables.
Traffic maps have indicated some slow traffic in the area as a result of the closure.
