A national retailer has revealed its town centre store in Wiltshire has been shut for a week due to flooding.
Superdrug announced it had unexpectedly closed its branch in Devizes Market Place on Tuesday, January 2, and the shop remained shut at the time of writing.
Multiple shoppers voiced their surprise at this announcement on social media in the days that followed.
A spokesperson for the chain has now revealed on Facebook that the enforced closure was due to flooding at the premises.
At this point, it is not known when the shop will reopen, and Superdrug has been approached for further comment.
While the store remained shut on Monday, January 8, staff were on site and those hoping to pick up click and collect orders were advised to knock loudly and show their ID and confirmation email.
A spokesperson for Superdrug said: “We are still currently closed due to flooding and will update further as soon as we can.
“We currently have staff on site today (January 8, 2024), if you have a click and collect order ready for collection please bring ID (and your) confirmation email and knock loudly.”
