A new barbershop has opened in a Wiltshire town centre and the owner’s generous scheme has positively impacted the community.
Vogue, a traditional Turkish barber, opened at the former Boots Opticians unit in Devizes Market Place in early December.
The new gent’s salon was opened by Tiko Hasan after undergoing an extensive renovation.
Mr Hasan, who has previously run two barbershops in Swindon, hopes his experience in the industry can bring success to the town centre building.
He told this paper the first few weeks in Devizes have been successful ones.
“For two weeks we’ve been open, we only do men’s hairstyles and it’s the third barbershop we have opened”, he added.
“With a lot of strength, a lot of hope, we opened the barbershop here normally, as a start, it's good.”
Mr Hasan and his staff have already received support from the local community after running an offer of free haircuts until New Year’s Eve for those who have difficulty paying.
This “kind gesture” has been praised by residents online.
One recipient said: “Just want to give these guys a huge shout out and thank you.
“It's so comforting to know that even people like me who are on the streets and struggling to get back on their feet can find kindness in guys like these at this time.”
