A Wiltshire man dubbed ‘Mr Christmas’ has been lighting up the festive season for a residential street.
Joe Hughes has created a stunning Christmas lights display at his home in Waylands, Devizes, which features Santa, reindeer and a sleigh, and an array of other dazzling decorations.
The pensioner has been lighting up the town with his displays for 26 years and has raised large sums of money for charity in that time.
This year’s offering took over two weeks of work to complete, with the help of Joe’s friend Paula Matthews, and is raising money for the Give a Duck Foundation which supports children with cancer.
Joe told this paper he enjoys bringing festive cheer to the community and has been overwhelmed by the response.

He said: “It’s knocked me back how many people have turned up, it’s been brilliant.
“I don’t know if this is my best year but it’s good so far, we’ve done quite well.
“It brings a lot of joy to me seeing the children’s faces when they see it and go ‘wow’, and when people look at the display they see what a long time it takes to do it.”
Visitors to the display can donate to the collection box at the garden gate or in several shops throughout the town.
