A man has died following a crash on a busy Wiltshire road.
The incident occurred on the A350 on Tuesday morning as emergency services were called to the crossroads near Lacock at approximately 5.35am.
A motorcyclist and a car were involved in a collision and the motorcyclist, a man in his 60s from Chippenham, died at the scene.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “His next of kin has been informed and are being supported by a specialist-trained family liaison officer.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this extremely difficult time.
“The road has been closed between Lackham roundabout and Beanacre.
“Due to the serious nature of the incident, the road is likely to remain closed for approximately six to eight hours while emergency services carry out recovery and investigative work at the scene.
“Drivers are urged to seek an alternative route.
“Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage which could assist should call 101 and quote log number 27 of today.”
The road remains closed as of 10.45am on Tuesday morning.
