Shoppers have reacted with excitement to the news a High Street fashion chain will open a new store in a Wiltshire shopping centre.

Select Fashion has taken over an empty unit in the Emery Gate Shopping Centre, in Chippenham, which was previously occupied by Kandu Arts.

In a sign on the window of the venue, the national retailer confirmed their new shop will be “coming soon” while work to the inside of the premises has been ongoing this week.

While an official opening date has not been announced at the time of writing, staff confirmed they were hoping to begin trading by October 29.

In a Facebook post they said: “So happy to announce that Select Fashion will be occupying a unit at the shopping centre.

The new store will stock a range of women’s wear from sizes six to 20, as well as children’s clothing for those aged seven to 14.

Residents reacted positively to the news on Facebook.

One shopper said: “Great to see a new shop coming to the town, hopefully will inspire some others to open.”

Another added: “Remember when we used to have a select in the town centre. My girls will be thrilled.”
