Police have been carrying out speed checks on several busy roads in Wiltshire and caught multiple offenders.
On Tuesday, October 18, officers were in place to conduct speed checks on a number of main roads in the Chippenham, Corsham and Box areas.
This included the A420 Marshfield Road, just outside Reel Cinema, and Hungerdown Lane in Chippenham.
Officers were also stationed on the A4 London Road between Box and Corsham.
The patrols were carried out as part of a North Hub road safety day of action and also saw Road Policing Units on the hunt for speeding drivers.
During the checks, a number of motorists were stopped by officers for travelling at excess speed.
Despite this, police confirmed that the majority of drivers they observed were driving within the law and showing “respect” to other road users.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers have today been conducting speed checks in Box, Corsham, and Chippenham for the North Hub road safety day of action alongside our Road Policing Unit.
“A number of drivers were stopped and dealt with for speeding offences but others generally showed respect for other road users.”
