A key Wiltshire route is once again due to be closed to all traffic for one week.
Wiltshire Council has given notice that the A350 will shut to all traffic during resurfacing works, between the Lackham and Chequers Roundabouts, which will start on Monday, October 9, and continue until Sunday, October 15.
The closure on the edge of Chippenham will be enforced between the hours of 7pm and 6am while contractors Tercon continue to work on the carriageway.
During this period motorists have been warned that “delays are likely” and they will be diverted via Showell and Patterdown onto the A4 Bath Road.
This notice comes after the council ordered Tercon to carry out remedial works to the busy road, after their initial resurfacing works did not meet the “correct standard.”
Closure orders to accommodate these works have already been granted from Monday, September 18, until Sunday, September 24, while another notice starting September 25 has now been replaced by the most recent one.
The notice will have a maximum duration of 21 days if the roadworks overrun.
Roadworks have been ongoing on the stretch of road since July, 2022, as part of a scheme to construct roundabout access to the new Southpoint Business Park.
