Two concerts at a popular Wiltshire venue have been cancelled at late notice, leaving ticket-holders disappointed, after organisers hit “financial difficulties.”
The Abba Revival and the Proms Spectacular had been due to take place at Bowood House and Gardens, near Calne, on Friday, September 1 and Saturday, September 2.
But Bowood recently announced that these concerts had now been cancelled after organiser Bel Events Ltd was struck by financial woes.
In a statement on their social media, Bowood House and Gardens said: “Sadly, Bowood has been informed by Bel Events Ltd, organiser of the Abba Revival and Proms Spectacular concerts at Bowood on September 1-2, that they have cancelled both events due to their financial difficulties.
“Bel Events sold tickets for these events on their website. They will be contacting all ticket holders directly.”
The announcement, which came just a week before the shows, has left many ticket-holders disappointed with many voicing their frustration under the post.
Bel Events could not be reached for comment.
At the time of writing, all links to their website led to a screen simply saying “Bel Events.”
Meanwhile their Facebook page is no longer available to view, with a message suggesting it has been made private or deleted.
