A horse rider has died after falling when her horse was “spooked by a motorcycle” on a Wiltshire road.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Bollards Hill, in Seend, at around 3.40pm on Sunday, July 9.
A horse and its rider reportedly fell after it was spooked by a motorcycle approaching from a blind bend.
The rider, a woman in her 50s from Melksham, was declared dead at the scene after suffering injuries in the fall.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “A woman has died following an incident involving a horse and a motorcyclist on Bollands Hill near Seend.
“Her next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.”
Both the horse and the motorcyclist suffered minor injuries in the incident.
No arrests have been made and police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.
A spokesperson added: “Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact the serious collision investigation team on 01225 694597 quoting log number 221 of yesterday’s date.
