A Wiltshire-based business has been named one of the fastest-growing companies in the UK by the Sunday Times.
Furniturebox, a Chippenham-based online retailer with an 88,000 sq ft warehouse at St Mowden Park off the M4, was included in the Sunday Times Hundred 2023.
The list ranks the fastest-growing private companies in the country and the furniture seller, which was started by childhood friends Monty George and Daniel Beckles eight years ago, came in at 59th on the leaderboard.
It comes after the company posted sales of £15.9 million last year and growth of over 70 per cent during the last three years.
The pair started the company after leaving Bishop Wordsworth’s grammar school in Salisbury and now employ 53 people at their new purpose-built headquarters, which was funded by retained profits.
Mr George said: “We are delighted to have been featured in the Sunday Times Hundred for the second year running.
“This is down to the fantastic efforts of the team we have assembled and the excellent value for money and customer service we provide.
“This year will be the busiest in our history and it is really exciting to be making progress in the United States.”
The Sunday Times added the firm is aiming to boost sales further by launching new product ranges.
