Police have reported multiple drivers after they were caught speeding during checks in several Wiltshire villages.
Officers from team four of the Devizes community policing team were present in a number of villages near the town on Thursday, June 22.
Speed checks were carried out in Upavon, Urchfont and Great Cheverell throughout the morning.
Police say the majority of motorists were travelling at the speed limit or below, however two road users were reported for speeding.
In Upavon a driver was issued a traffic offence report for travelling at 39mph in a 30mph zone while another motorist received the same punishment for doing 28mph in a 20mph area in Great Cheverell.
Two drivers were also given “words of advice” after police clocked them going at 35mph in a 30mph area in Urchfont.
During their visit police also spoke to locals about their concerns and frustrations over speeding.
PC Lawes, who was in attendance during the speed checks, said: “Speeding is one of the fatal five and is a policing priority.
“Please be aware of the risks of speeding, particularly in areas where there are school children, and maintain the appropriate speed in all areas.
“We will continue to proactively visit other areas of concern and thank the public for their engagement with us to highlight specific areas.”
