A town centre Tesco supermarket is closed due to an unexpected power outage.
The Tesco branch at the Emery Gate shopping centre, in the centre of Chippenham, did not open on Saturday morning after a fault left staff unable to let customers in.
A sudden power outage in the front of the store has prevented the doors from opening while the tills are not currently operational, according to a member of staff on the door.
The superstore’s fridges remain unaffected by the fault and the branch is still able to take deliveries.
The fault is expected to last for several hours before the shop can be reopened.
A sign attached to the entrance said: “Due to a store fault we are unable to open the store. We are working to sort the issue and will open soon.
“Sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
