A new Asda store is set to open in a Wiltshire town later this month.

The supermarket giant will open its third-ever Asda Express, a convenience store-style shop, on London Road near Calne town centre on Tuesday, May 23.

The retailer says their new express format will sell over 3,000 products including fresh, ambient, and chilled groceries, beers, wines and spirits, and their range of own brand items.

Asda Express will also offer parcel collection and returns, lottery tickets and ample parking.

15 new jobs will be created by the opening.

James Laws, Asda’s senior director of wholesale and convenience, said: “We’re excited to be bringing our new convenience offering to Calne and we’re confident the store will offer customers everything they need - whether that’s popping in for a pint of milk, grabbing a spot of lunch on the go, or buying the fresh ingredients to cook dinner from scratch.

“We’re also delighted to be welcoming 15 new colleagues to the Asda family and thank them for their hard work so far in bringing our convenience vision to life.”

Asda’s latest branch is the third of their new Express stores, but they plan to launch 300 more by the end of 2026.

The shop will be open from 6am until 11pm seven days a week.
