A 16-year-old boy was assaulted by a Volkswagen driver in an unprovoked attack, say police.
The boy was walking home from the gym, along Park Lane in Chippenham, at around 10.10pm on Thursday, April 20.
As he passed the National Probation Service offices and moved onto Marshfield Road, a dark blue Volkswagen Golf stopped beside him.
The driver exited the vehicle and assaulted the teenager, who sustained cuts and scrapes to his arms and face in the attack.
He then got back in his car and drove off, heading west along Marshfield Road.
A white Mercedes then arrived at the scene and the driver assisted the victim.
Police are urging the occupants of this vehicle, or any other witnesses, to come forward as they may be able to help with their investigation.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Police are appealing for witnesses to an unprovoked assault in Chippenham.
“Following the incident, a white Mercedes stopped and the driver got out to assist the victim.
