An update on the project to repair the collapsed B4069 at Lyneham Banks - which has been closed for more than a year - is set to be delivered by Wiltshire Council this month.
The road shut in February 2022 after a major landslip caused “significant damage” to the highway and the council recently admitted work was unlikely to start before spring 2024.
The delay has caused major problems for local businesses, who are “desperate” for the route to reopen to increase trade.
Now the council has announced a public webinar, from 6pm to 7pm on Monday, April 24, to give people the opportunity to learn more about the project’s progress.
The event is open to anyone who is interested and will feature a short presentation from engineers working to fix the road.
Questions can be submitted in advance by signing up at wiltshire.gov.uk/highways-b4069-lyneham-banks and a recording of the event will be available on YouTube.
Cllr Caroline Thomas, cabinet member for transport, said: “We appreciate how difficult the closure of the B4069 Lyneham Banks has been for the local community.
“We have been working hard to mitigate traffic issues the closure has caused and understand what is necessary to repair the road as quickly as possible.
“This webinar is a great opportunity for anyone with an interest in the project to find out more and have their questions answered.”
